Five Questions With Tony Tripoli

You probably remember Tony Tripoli as Kathy Griffin's "main gay" with muscles on Season One of her hit reality show last year on Bravo. I recently caught up with Tony to find out what he's been up to since leaving life on "The D-List."

Q: Hi, Tony! I've read that you're going to be on a new series this fall on Fox's new network, MyNetwork. Tell us about the show and the character you play, Hans.
A: The show is called
"Secret Obsessions: Fashion House," and it stars Bo Derek as an evil fashion label owner (think Donatella, but as a crazy bitch ... OK, just think Donatella). She has two gay designers (think Dolce & Gabanna) who have been with her for a long time. They have a sick, abusive relationship where she is lovely one minute, cunty the next twenty ... we oughta go on "Oprah." The rest of the cast is BEAUTIFUL MODELS WHO FUCK EACH OTHER ... there, I said it. If that don't make you set your TiVo, then , I give up! Seriously, these kids are so gorgeous ... two of the girls are MAXIM cover girls, one is a "Deal or No Deal" Briefcase Babe, so you know she's a big fat cow ... oh, they are LOVELY. And really nice, unfortunately. Why "unfortunately"? Cause I really wanna make out with ALL of them. Oh, and also in the show is Tippi Hedren, who looks amazing, PS, as the "Deal or No Deal" gal's dying mom. She laughed when we met, because she is also on "The 4400" as a dying old woman. She said, "I'm glad to be working, but, everyone is gonna think IM REALLY DYING!" Cute.

Q: Your
Web site says the show is on Monday through Friday. Is this right?
A: The show is on six nights a week! Every M-F at 9 p.m. is a new episode, and on Saturday at 9 p.m. is a recap of the previous week's episodes. It's a totally new format for American audiences, but this is how the Telenovelas work in the Spanish-speaking countries. So FOX is taking a big leap here ... it's really exciting to a part of.

Q: Have you filmed more than the pilot?
A: So far, we have shot about 25 percent of the shows ... we don't shoot whole episodes. No, we shoot by location, like on a film. So, they build (or rent a location) a set, and we spend a day, or a week, shooting all the scenes that happen there FROM ALL 65 EPISODES. It's tough, 'cause in one day, you'll shoot scenes from Episode 54, the Episode 2, then Episode 24, etc. So, you, as the actor, REALLY have to be on your shit, as far as keeping track of "do I know you lied to me yet?"; "are we friends, or are we fighting at this point?"; "Am I still pregnant?"... you know, that type of stuff. There are two crews a day, shooting about 10 scenes EACH. We have four directors ... so, the actor has to be sure to maintain consistency, cause we move FAST.

Q: I noticed there are some new "gays" on "The D-List" this season. Will we be seeing more of you and
Dennis?
A: Dennis and I aren't on Season Two of "The D-List," unfortunately. I have been committed to FOX for the soap (originally we were going to start shooting in March), and Dennis is writing on
"Lovespring International" on Lifetime, so .... it's a busy time. But, I know the GAYS this season; In fact Dennis and I trained them! They are really cool guys ... I adore them.

Q: Finally, what do you want to say to all the gay boys who developed a crush on you from seeing you on "The D-List"?
A: I'd tell them to go to
tonytripoli.com, and e-mail me!!!! What's the point of putting up with the ugly side of this business, if you don't get laid!?
