Page 1 Consider (10/12)

  • Major League Dilemma: I'm from Detroit but in love with Barry Zito. This one's a tough call. (MLB)

  • Economic Shortcomings: A new study shows that legalized same-sex marriage is good for the economy. No wonder the Bush administration won't approve it. (Advocate)

  • IM Sure: I guess the Democrats coerced former Florida Rep. Mark Foley into sexually harassing underage boy pages and then sat on the information until the midterm elections. Finally they orchestrated something brilliantly. Right. (WP)

  • McShowdown: A festering feud between stars Patrick Dempsey and Isaiah Washington erupted into an all-out brawl on the set of "Grey’s Anatomy" -- but (un)fortunately no medical intervention was needed. (Herald)

  • Oh, Great: Light deprivation hinders the body clock's ability to regulate the sleep-wake cycle, says a U.S. study that helps explain why many night and early morning shift workers have trouble sleeping. Just what I need to read about as I blog at 5 in the morning ... (HealthDay)

  • Iraqi Death Toll: President Bush can dismiss the study that says 655,000 Iraqis have died since the U.S. invasion in 2003, but will the slaughter ever end? It doesn't seem like anyone has a plan -- of if there is such a plan could even work there. (HP)

  • Flex Appeal: The Advocate gets to the bottom of why straight guys like to flaunt it for the gays on YouTube. (Advocate)

  • Hate Crime Arrest: Four young men were arrested for luring a gay man to a remote location with an online promise of a sexual encounter, then attempting to rob him -- an incident that left the victim in critical condition after he ran into traffic to escape the attack. The victim, 28-year-old Michael Sandy, is brain-dead at Brookdale Hospital, and his family is agonizing over whether to take him off a respirator and donate his organs. (NYPost)
