Page 1 Consider (06/18)

  • Double Fault: I'm a huge tennis fan and a reality TV dating junkie, but even I think "Age of Love" (starring onetime hunk Mark Philippoussis) looks horrendous. Will I be overruled? (BH)

  • Homophobic Greetings, by Hallmark: When you smear enough to send the very best. (Advocate)

  • Jersey Rules: Effective this weekend, New Jersey joined eight other states in making it illegal for employers and landlords to discriminate against transgendered people. The bill, which sailed through the Legislature in December like a tranny in a pair of Size 13 pumps on the dance floor, has received little attention in a state that's gaining a reputation for being welcoming to lesbian, gay and transgendered people. Earlier this year, New Jersey began allowing same-sex couples to unite in civil unions. (AP)

  • Terrible 2's: You give a 2-year-old a cold margarita in her sippy cup and she's still not happy. (Maybe I'm being too hard on her; maybe it was house tequila.) (AP)

  • Small Brains, Big Balls: What kind of parents leave their 4-year-old daughter in charge of twin 2-year-olds in a hotel room in a foreign country and then have the balls to be mad a "the media" for reporting on it? (AP)

  • Back to JR's: Voters chose a retired businessman over an openly gay, longtime city councilman to be Dallas' new mayor. (365Gay)

  • Jenny Jones Redux: The gay panic defense has reared its ugly head again, this time in Brooklyn. When are the courts going to do away with this repugnant legalized homophobia? (Advocate)

  • Second Acts: If dames of a certain age can now find work in Hollywood, might there be hope for fortysomething gays? (NYT)

  • Attack of the Killer Lesbians: Remember the pack of lezzies who stabbed a guy downtown who tried to hit on one of them? They're not happy about missing the next Melissa Etheridge tour or their lengthy jail sentences. (NYDN)

  • Punctual Anger: Damn. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who gets white with rage when people call a "slash" a "backslash." Now don't get me started with the dash and double dash crowd ... (Malcontent)

  • Slay Her: Don't f**k with Buffy. (People)

  • Dan Abrams Was Right: Super retard Michael Nifong was disbarred for his handling of the Duke rape case. Justice is finally served. (NYT

Ken- Agree with you Mark Philippousis!

Matt and I saw that greeting card, if that card had been at a gay themed store, maybe not so bad but in the department store, I didn't care for it..

Lastly, just for the record, I was friends with Jon Schmitz (Jenny Jones) and it was MUCH LESS homophobia than it was Scott Amedures relentless stalking of Jon. Jon knew I was gay, we hung out together, he was a nice guy but issues with his family, his father in particular.

The night before he killed Scott, Scott had been hounding him, his father had attacked him for bringing shame on his family, our co-workers had Jon out drinking and smoking pot and practically exhorting him to take revenge on Scott for surprising him on the show and Jon went home that night to find another note from Scott.

Obviously, I DO NOT in any way excuse Jon for what he did, but I do know it wasn't because he "hated" gays.

In all fairness, it seems the Brittish knucklehead parents are angry with the media for publishing the note about where their daughter is buried, without checking its validity rather than being upset about being portrayed as the irrisponsible idiots that they are.

true, danny. but they're not really in a position to criticize anyone at this point. reporting on leads is fair game whether these dip shits like it or not.
