Hot Water?

Did management at the popular Chelsea gay bar Splash throw a patron out of the joint after he sought refuge inside following a gay bashing in front of the club? Ramone Johnson wrote about the harrowing incident on his About.com gay blog (appropriately called AboutGayLife), but now I'm hearing rumors that Splash is suing About's parent company (The New York Times Co.) for defamation saying Johnson's version of events are far from the truth -- and they have video surveillance footage to prove it. Stay tuned.

Splash regularly denies entrance to it's bar based on many things, including gender. It wouldn't shock me if Splash was at fault here.

How could they sue About.com or the NY Times when this is clearly an opinion piece. It's one person's story. SBNY probably just sees dollar signs.
