'Desperately Seeking Susan' on the West End

Here's your first look at the cast of "Desperately Seeking Susan" at Novello Theatre in London. My favorite movie of the era adapted as a musical featuring the music of my favorite band (Blondie), yet somehow I'm just sick about the whole thing. Anyone in London see previews of this one yet? Please let me know!
Susan (Emma Williams) is a free spirit
Hot tub salesman Gary Glass (Jonathan Rather) tries to brighten up his bored wife Roberta's (Kelly Price) life out in Fort Lee, New Jersey
Susan (Emma Wilson) and Jimmy (Mark McGee) seem to live the glamorous life, at least from Roberta's (Kelly Price) view from the personals
Dez (Alec Newman) thinks he's looking after his friend Jim's girlfriend, Susan, when in fact it's Roberta (Kelly Price), who wants to be Susan and with a little bump on the head, basically "is" ...

Emma Williams as Susan and Kelly Price as Roberta, above, and both of them as "Susan," below

Saw it last night, and BOY it's a stinker. I love Blondie, but their songs just aren't suited to the musicals treatment: they're shoehorned into the story and do nothing to move the plot along. Some of the staging's quite good, but everything else is shocking.

I don't like how the Susan character looks at all. She looks too old (as in grown up, adult, sophisticated—not a slam vs. the pretty actress). Her hair looks like it has nothing to do with the rest of the person. Madonna WAS Susan, in ways that are a credit to her performance and a questioning of whether or not it even WAS a performance. No matter, it worked. This lady looks all wrong for this part. The rest looks okay. But I'm glad I didn't fly over to see it.
